Classical Shamanic Counselling
with Simon BuxtonClassical Shamanic Counselling (CSC) is a spiritual counselling method bridging ancient methodology and modern technology for client-practitioner work. It is a technique and practice based on classical shamanism, developed for practitioners to support clients in order to obtain a deeper understanding into life issues and problems in order to find ways to address and resolve them.
In traditional shamanic healing, it is the shaman who journeys & communes with their tutelary spirits on behalf of the client. The CSC method is contrasted by the shamanic counsellor teaching and tutoring clients to journey for themselves to meet their own tutelary spirits who are understood to be the True Counsellors. This encourages and helps the client to engage with their own power and discover untapped resources bringing about a profound deepening in their connection to the sources of spiritual nourishment.
Course participants will receive extensive training in this method and experience it in all its stages, in both the roles of client and practitioner. Those successfully completing this training will be awarded a Sacred Trust Certificate in Classical Shamanic Counselling’

Two Week Training in Classical Shamanism
with Simon BuxtonThis intensive training in advanced principles & practices found in classical shamanism offers the opportunity to immerse deeply and profoundly in the shamans world, uninterrupted for two weeks. The work will afford countless rich opportunities to engage & work with the spirits of the land and other Middle World spirits of nature as well as the transcended ancestors and other spirit kith and kin. It is here that participants will be trained in heart-centered soul retrieval, compassionate depossession, the shaman as medium, sucking doctor, psychopomp and diviner as well as a wealth of ceremonial and initiatory experiences that are not offered on any of our other courses. The training will be demanding, in-depth and thorough and is open to a maximum of 22 participants.

Classical Shamanic Soul Retrieval and Shamanic Extraction Training
with Simon BuxtonDuring this six-day intensive course participants will be trained in dealing with the two most prevalent forms of illness from a shamanic perspective, namely soul loss and harmful object intrusions. We shall learn how soul loss occurs and will experientially learn how to find or track a soul and bring it back to a person. We shall explore how this can be effective in working with survivors of abuse, accidents, people who have undergone surgery and other emotional and physical traumas, as well as people dealing with such issues as alcoholism and drug abuse. Participants will also be trained in methods of removing harmful energy intrusions from a patient’s body which typically cause weakness, malaise, localised pain or discomfort, illness or death, depending on the type of energy intrusion and how long it has been in the patients body. These misplaced energies can be removed through sucking out the intrusions or by using ‘spirit hands’ to pull the intrusions out, and the training explores in detail how to locate, identify and remove these object intrusions in a fashion that is safe for both the practitioner and the patient alike.
As well as working with techniques and practices regarding soul retrieval and shamanic extraction, the training will also focus on life after healing — how we create healthier lives for ourselves and others after the healing has taken place. This will be accomplished through shamanic journey, ritual and ceremony.
During this six-day intensive course each participant will act as a shaman to learn the techniques and they will also have the opportunity to have the lost parts of themselves retrieved and intrusions removed. This training is specifically designed for those people who wish to deepen their shamanic work and bring shamanic healing work into their practice with others.

Classical Shamanic Psychopomp Training: Death, Dying & Departure
with Simon BuxtonWithin shamanism death is understood as a passage and a crossing over to the Land of the Dead and a return to the ancestors or to source and serving the healing in the dying process is part of serving the healing in life One of the distinguishing features of shamanism is that shamans not only help the living, but also the dying and the deceased. As the soul guide or psychopomp, the shaman transports the souls of the dead home, assuring that soul’s safe and complete journey through the death process. The shaman also functions as a psychopomp for souls who, though dead for a long time, have not completed their passage to the Land of the Dead. On this course you will be trained in how to prepare the dying for the journey ahead and to escort the soul when its time on earth is done.

One Month Training in Classical Shamanism
with Simon BuxtonFor the first time in the history of The Sacred Trust we are excited to announce our One Month Shamanic Training. A solid month spent in the shamanic state of consciousness is no light undertaking, even for the experienced practitioner, but for those who consider themselves ready for such an adventure this will be four weeks of rich & challenging work which will almost undoubtedly bring life-changing transformations in its wake.
The training itself will incorporate everything that is covered on our Two Week Training in Classical Shamanism, with an additional fortnight of work affording an incredibly rich immersion into the shamans world;
The Two Week Training Details:

The additional work on the One Month Training will aim to include: pilgrimages to little-known places of power; the creation of sacred art to serve as a bridge between the worlds; dream incubation work; word & object doctoring; faery doctoring; working with masks as receptacles for spirit together with the shamans costume as an extension of the shaman’s person & power; engaging with the elements and other spirits of nature including the forest spirits of Britain; the spirit mate, spirit husband/wife as tutelary ally; the making and application of amulets & effigies within shamanism. As well as the above there will also be deep engagement with the five universal healing balms – movement, storytelling, silence, singing & darkness. If time allows there will also be a showing of several rare ethnographic films from our archives.

Please Note: This training is strictly limited to 20 participants, all of whom must have good journeying skills. The minimum prerequisite is The Shaman’s Pathway with Simon Buxton and an interview may be necessary for some applicants. Should your application for a place on this training be unsuccessful, your deposit will be refunded in full. Should your application be accepted, a monthly payment option for the training fee is available on request.
Classical Shamanism and Nature: The Visible Face of Spirit

On this residential course the specific focus of the work will be working with both nature spirits and the spirits of nature, as a source of healing power, personal and planetary healing. This is an opportunity to connect with nature and the spirits to discover more about how to work together at this time of global ecological crisis, and where we can begin to hear and learn from the silent knowledge of the Earth herself and the spirits that animate her.
